Research Fellow in English, Girton College
I have research interests in modern and contemporary literature, life writing and digital culture. Current research projects investigate how memories are collected, archived, curated and interpreted (by institutions, writers, artists and online) – and the implications this might have for political/social change. I also have an interest in miniature narratives and popular form: anecdotes, jokes, clichés, tweets, digital stories and memes. An article I have written on digital forms of war writing is soon to be published in the academic journal Textual Practice. I have also written on digital archives of local life stories, drawing on my work on a psychogeographical exploration of the lives of people who live and work on the Strand in Central London. This will be published in a forthcoming Ashgate book I am co-editing, Life Writing and Space.
